1. House Of Torment
This is the most popular of the haunted houses in Austin, and it seriously is sooooo scary. Come prepared to jump out of your skin (multiple times.) The legendary House of Torment in Austin has been called "the scariest halloween house in America" by the Travel Channel.
The haunted house features 3 attractions, including The Abominations, Tormented, and Return to Illusion Manor, along with some add-ons like mini escape games, axe throwing, and a Hades Zombie Simulation.

2. Fatal Fear Haunted House
Up in northwest Austin toward Cedar Park, Fatal Fear Haunted House is a pro-level home-based haunted house. That means you'll literally be in a home in a neighborhood!

3. Bat City Scaregrounds
If you want to head to a haunted house in south Austin, Bat City Scaregrounds is for you. If you want an entire fall fest experience with a spooky component, Bat City Scaregrounds in Buda, Texas is perfect. It's basically a horror theme park.

If you’re looking for a kid-friendly scary event in Austin, check out the Austin Zoo’s annual event, Boo At The Zoo. While not a frightfully terrifying haunted house event, it’s a fun, gentle entry for younger children to get into Halloween.

6. Haunted ATX
This is the only mobile ghost tour in Austin! If you want to see all of the spooky, haunted locations in Austin where folks have reported ghost sitings (like The Tavern, Clay Pit, and more) hop on the Haunted ATX limo. The cast of characters will take you around Austin where you get out of the car and go into each haunted establishment.

If you get your thrills from a good scare, you might as well use that fear to fuel a good cause, right? It's an actor-driven haunt that makes participants literally crawl and crouch through the obstacle course of slime, blood, and gore cannons.
Scare For A Cure is a unique haunted house in Austin because it's volunteer-based and raises money for the Breast Cancer Research Center and other charities. Located in Manor, Texas, this haunted house is about 30 minutes east of Austin.
