1. Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival

This one is SO much more than just an Austin pumpkin patch! The Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival is held annually at Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead, a Texas State Historical Landmark.

You can bring your family and friends here to enjoy a bunch of fun activities and games with an Autumn theme, like a giant corn pit where the kids can play with Tonka trucks, a petting zoo, and a giant tower of hay bales that you can climb.

It’s a truly family-friendly affair with more than 50 attractions like a hay maze, an art corner, a train ride, and a bunch of delicious snacks and beverages. Note that for 2023 they are ONLY open on the weekends, so be sure to get your tickets early

Hours: weekends from 10 am - 7 pm 

Cost: $15 Per person (babies 0-3 are free and adults over 65 are free)

3. Sweet Eats Farm

To celebrate Sweet Eats Fall Festival, this cute farm in Georgetown is opening up again for 2023 bigger and better than ever! Check out their 4.5-acre Texas-sized corn maze this year with an Open AI/Chat GPT - themed maze. With more than 20 different fall activities like pony rides, apple cannons, and face painting, this is one of the best pumpkin patches in Austin if you live up north!

Their 2-acre Texas-sized pumpkin patch has more than 20 types of pumpkins available for picking and bringing home. In addition to the major events (the pumpkin patch and corn maze), they also have 30 other fun little activities that the whole family (especially the kiddos!) will love.

4. Crowe's Nest Farm

Located in Manor, TX, Crowe's Nest Farm is a working farm and wildlife refuge. It's home to hundreds of abused farm animals and non-releasable wildlife, and thousands of school children visit every year to say hello. Crowe's Nest Farm holds a Family Fall Fest every October. Stop by for the Pumpkin Patch and other fall-themed activities all season long!

It’s a beautiful place to visit on a brisk fall day, and you can try horseback riding, hayrides, farm tours, live music, and even say hi to the various wildlife on the property.

5. Evergreen Farms Pumpkin Hunt

Sure, Evergreen Farms is known for being a Christmas tree farm, but they host thousands of Central Texas residents every year for their annual fall festival in Elgin, TX. Be sure to show up this October 2022 when Evergreen Farms hosts its annual Pumpkin Hunt!

6. The Jersey Barnyard

Visit this 100-year-old 4 generational farm in La Grange, TX (about an hour southeast of Austin) for their annual pumpkin patch! Aside from choosing some pumpkins to bring home, the farm also offers free pumpkin painting upon purchasing one. You can take a photo with your decorated pumpkin in their barn and it’s a really sweet (and inexpensive) fall activity near Austin.

14. SoCo Pumpkin Patch at Christ Lutheran Church

All church proceeds from this year’s pumpkin patch will benefit the wonderful non-profit organization, Water to Thrive, which builds wells and helps to bring clean water to those living in rural parts of Africa.

Saint Johns Lutheran Church has an impressive selection of beautiful pumpkins and gourds are grown in our sister state, New Mexico, on a Navajo Reservation. They've partnered with their vendor, Pumpkins USA, for 30 years!

The funds raised at the Saint John’s Patch go to missions and programming that benefit the community.
