You know when you watch a charming rom com movie and the main characters have that darling local book shop that they frequent? (Think: Meg Ryan's shop in You've Got Mail, or something along those lines.) Well, prepare to be introduced to a little book shop that is SO cute and perfect you might not even believe it's real.

First Light Books is a charming independent bookstore, cafe, and wine bar in Hyde Park. It's located in a historic renovated post office that served as a neighborhood hub for years, and now it's a bustling, cozy shop full of curated books.

Guests can start their literary journey with (what else?) a warm beverage. The coffee bar has both  a small walkup window for outdoor guests and an indoor counter. There's a smattering of pastry options, a stack of sandwiches on the counter, and seasonal beverages in addition to the regular coffee shop classics like cortados, iced lattes, and drip coffee.

There's a kids corner along the back wall with small tables and chairs, a beautiful skylight, and plenty of expertly-curated children's books. This would be a great place to purchase gifts for kids in Austin.

This is the type of place you'll want to browse slowly, taking it all in with a warm beverage in hand. You'll most likely your new favorite book on these shelves...but if not, you can simply stop by for a glass of wine and an evening of perusing the shelves.
