Quick Guide To The Best Food and Drink In Georgetown Texas
If you don't have much time and you just want a quick recommendation of where to eat in Georgetown Texas, here are my top picks in a few popular categories.
Want more details? Keep reading below for longer reviews and photos and a map of the best Georgetown restaurants.
Breakfast, Brunch, and coffee in Georgetown
Sweet Lemon Kitchen always gets my vote for best breakfast and brunch. It's an adorable family-owned breakfast spot with homemade pastries, delicious toast and pancakes, and the BEST cinnamon rolls of your life. (But you have to get there early if you want one!)
Honorable mentions: Monument Cafe, a roadside diner that was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, or Goodfolks, a southern eatery on the square with an excellent weekend brunch. If you want to go to the best coffee shop in Georgetown, that's definitely 309 Coffee.
Mexican and Tex-Mex in Georgetown
El Monumento serves Tex-Mex and interior Mexican cuisine in a beautiful 7,700-square-foot restaurant. This is the sister restaurant to Monument Cafe (the diner I mentioned above) and they have awesome margaritas, enchiladas, and happy hour!
Honorable mention: Dos Salsas, a family-owned mini chain of Tex-Mex restaurants. It's not going to blow you away, but if you want some basic fajitas and queso, it's pretty good.
Pizza and Italian in Georgetown
You need to go to 600 Degrees Pizzeria for the BEST pizza and wings in Georgetown! It's a cute restaurant on the Downtown Square and they cook their pies in a super hot oven to get that classic char on the dough. DELISH.
Honorable mention: La Riv, a new-ish Italian grill in Georgetown. It's a bit pricier but SO worth it if you want a nice Italian dinner out with handmade pasta, wood grilled steak, and wine.
Best Asian Food In Georgetown
Misu Sushi is a bit of a hole-in-the-wall type of place, but it's definitely the best sushi you'll find in Georgetown. It's always fresh, authentic, and pretty reasonably priced.
Honorable mention: Kyoto Sushi & Steak, which is a more high-end than Misu and the better option if you want a fancy date night restaurant.
Fine Dining Restaurants
City Post Chophouse is hard to beat if you want an excellent white tablecloth steak house experience. It's pretty cool that it's located in a historic former post office in Georgetown.
Honorable mention: Wildfire has been here for more than 20 years, and while they're not "trendy" and don't have that modern ambiance, the meat and wild game are grilled over open flames and you probably can't find a better restaurant in Georgetown for carnivores.
Georgetown Bars and Breweries
The Golden Rule is a speakeasy-style restaurant on the Square. They have a full menu, but I love stopping by for cocktails and a few appetizers with a group of friends.
Honorable mention: Barking Armadillo Brewing is a family-friendly craft brewery with and indoor-outdoor space, live music, and a wide range of beer styles.
Best Restaurants in Georgetown Texas
I shared the "Cliffs Notes" version with you above. But if you want more restaurant options, some pretty photos, and a lot more details about my favorite Georgetown restaurants, I'm sharing it all here. I hope the following is helpful for you!
1. Monument Cafe
We’ve got to start with Monument Cafe because it’s definitely the most well-known restaurant in Georgetown. Why? Guy Fieri stopped here on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives. He tried their famous (and absolutely delicious) King Ranch Casserole, as well as the Pig ‘n Waffle, which is a slice of honey ham in between two golden waffles. Delish.
So it’s pretty obvious what Monument Café serves: southern diner favorites. They call themselves roadside café using local and organic ingredients. Many folks love to stop here on the drive down I35 because Monument Café is just a short distance from the highway. They’re only open for breakfast and lunch, so come early and come hungry! All of their breakfast plates are classic and delicious, but the Chicken & Biscuits are definitely a stand-out item: two grilled buttermilk biscuits topped with a fried chicken breast, two eggs any style, and sausage gravy. And if you eat here for lunch, be sure to try that famous King Ranch Casserole! Oh, and you absolutely must get a slice of their pie before you leave. Order it quickly - a lot of flavors will sell out before Monument Cafe closes at 3 pm.

2. Sweet Lemon Kitchen
Sweet Lemon Kitchen is about to become your favorite breakfast spot in Georgetown, Texas. This adorable two-story house-turned-café serves scratch-made farm-to-table fare in a cozy, intimate setting. The interior is literally inside of a house, so it’s quaint and comfortable, with multiple rooms for dining. It feels like the type of place where you want to curl up with a book, a stack of pancakes, and a frothy latte. And the outside patio is so charming and the perfect place to gather with some friends for a lunch date.
The food is always fresh and tasty. They have homemade breakfast pastries (seriously, you need to get the cinnamon roll before it sells out!!) and a wide variety of breakfast plates like an absolutely delicious french toast berry bake or their famous avocado toast with all sorts of yummy toppings like crumbled cotija cheese, fiery red pepper flakes, and fresh grape tomatoes. For lunch, their gourmet sandwiches are just that: loaded with scrumptious flavors like cheddar cheese and roasted garlic aioli, chicken salad with apple/celery/dijon, and a delicious BLT with lots of avocado and applewood smoked bacon. They also offer a full coffee bar, wine and beer, a kid's menu, GF options, and a dinner menu on Fridays and Saturdays. Oh, and if you didn’t manage to get a breakfast pastry, be sure to grab one of their homemade desserts, like the signature lemon bar or their amazing jumbo chocolate chip cookie. They’re all made with organic flour, all-natural ingredients, and lots of love.

3. 600 Degrees Pizzeria
If you’re looking for the best pizza in Georgetown, Texas, you absolutely must go to 600 Degrees. It’s located just off Georgetown Square and is always packed with locals and visitors on any night of the week. Open since 2014, 600 Degrees is a family-owned pizza restaurant serving craft beer, wings, and North Beach pizza in a cool vintage building. Keep in mind that this is a pretty small restaurant (especially the interior), so if you’re heading here on a Saturday night, you might have to wait for a table. Don’t want to wait? Order ahead, or dine at 600 Degrees for lunch or happy hour!
Definitely order some of their famous wings - they’re the best wings in Georgetown! They come in a bunch of different flavors. The “taco” and the “teriyaki” are both really good, but you can go for classics like lemon pepper or ranch, too. Oh, and the gourmet cheese bread is 100% worth ordering, even though it’s essentially like a pizza warm-up to the real pizza.
As far as the pizza goes, the slices here are HUGE!! Like, essentially the size of two normal slices of pizza. It’s really fun to just order a bunch of individual slices instead of a whole pie. But if your table wants an entire pie of this delicious pizza, the Signature pies and the make-it-yourself pies are fun. Try their Italian meatballs and smoked gouda as pizza toppings!

4. City Post Chophouse
Like I mentioned earlier, this upscale steakhouse off the Square is one of the best date night restaurants in Georgetown. City Post Chophouse is actually located in a historic former post office. You’ll be able to enjoy a fancy dinner in a building that’s nearly 100 years old. Cool, right? Oh, and FYI: they recommend dressing in “Texas formal” attire here. Collared shirts for men, no workout gear, gym shorts, or baseball caps.
They offer cocktails on tap, as well as signature cocktails, a wine list, and beer. Start with the fresh oysters on the half-shell or the shrimp cocktail made with four jumbo gulf shrimp. The soups and salads are standard chophouse options: onion soup and wedge salad. And for your entree, pick from their delicious cuts of steak, or the seafood section, which includes a lobster roll, a Tomahawk pork chop, and a roasted half hen in a sweet and spicy orange glaze. If you want a steakhouse in Georgetown, Texas, and you love unique, historic dining spaces, plan on booking a reservation at City Post Chophouse. {Photo: City Post Chophouse}

5. El Monumento
Although they (nearly) share a name and are sister restaurants, Monument Cafe and El Monumento couldn’t be more different! While Monument Cafe (mentioned earlier in this guide to the best Georgetown restaurants) is a roadside diner open for breakfast and lunch, El Monumento is a more upscale Mexican restaurant open for lunch and dinner. It’s a lot bigger, too! It’s a 7,700-square-foot restaurant with glass walls overlooking the courtyard, an open kitchen, and textiles and decor from Mexico and South Texas.
And while it’s definitely a family-friendly spot with Tex-Mex favorites like big plates of fajitas, cheesy enchiladas, and fish tacos, it’s also a fun spot for a night out. Their jalapeno margaritas are great, as are their other cocktails like the tequila old-fashioned. Be sure to get the queso flameado with homemade corn tortillas to start!

6. 309 Coffee
This is HANDS DOWN the best coffee shop in Georgetown, TX! They have their own reputable coffee roasting program, and they also source beans from some of the most renowned coffee roasters around the country. The baristas are highly skilled and can make the best damn cappuccino of your life.
And beyond the quality of the coffee itself, the coffee shop is a calm, welcoming place to enjoy your beverage and a pastry or a nice place to bring your laptop and hammer out a few hours of work.
I also love stopping by in the evening hours and getting a beer on tap (they have a few local craft beer options) and hanging out on the front yard area. There's a lot of seating, and since this Georgetown coffee shop/bar is open until 7 pm, it's truly one of the best places to enjoy a glass of wine or beer in the evening!

7. Mikey V’s Tacos
Mikey V’s Tacos On The Square and Hot Sauce Shop (phew, quite the name!) is the best place to get tacos in Georgetown, Texas. You have to walk through the hot sauce shop to get to the little taco restaurant. Once you’re there, order at the window, find a seat, and they’ll have your order ready pretty quickly.
The slow-cooked pork carnitas tacos are so hearty and decadent, wrapped up in those warm flour tortillas. And the beef birria tacos are one of the best sellers. Be sure to order the consome dipping broth with it! Birria tacos here are made with slow-cooked beef and shredded queso blanco, topped with fresh onions and cilantro.

8. Fuego Latino Gastropub
I'm absolutely obsessed with this family-owned Latin American restaurant! It's the brainchild of chef Jorge Alcocer's lifelong dream of opening a restaurant. They have amazing cuisine that is seriously so dang delicious...you're going to crave that ceviche sampler, the empanadas, and the big bold Cuban sandwiches again and again.
The lunch and dinner menu are both pretty robust, offering classic Latin American dishes. There's also a full bar with cocktails and local draft beers. M lunch-time favorites are the al pastor tacos and the Cuban-style crispy sandwich. (YUM.) If you stop by for dinner, a must-try is the Ceviche Sampler (pictured above), serving up three different ceviches with plantain and tortilla chips. Georgetown locals and visitors alike have made Fuego Latino a local favorite!

9. The Golden Rule
The Golden Rule is a really fun speakeasy-style bar and restaurant in Georgetown, located just off of their downtown square. They have classic American-style bar food, shareable plates, and a pretty darn impressive selection of whiskeys and cocktails. Worth note: their locally-sourced cuisine, prepared by award-winning Chef Juan, has earned them recognition from Bourbon Review Magazine as one of the country’s top bars.
Dig into specialties like Cantonese Riblets with pork riblets, char sui sauce, toasted sesame seeds, and chives in a firecracker aioli, or the Blackberry and Chevre Salad with cucumber, spring mix greens, and pecans dressed with a honey balsamic vinaigrette. Try out specialty cocktails like Knock Knock Knockin with heavens door bourbon and coffee or the Golden Classic Mary's Choice with buffalo trace, velvet falernum, lemon, and grapefruit.
If you're looking for the best cocktail bars in Georgetown or the best spots to go out with girlfriends, Golden Rule is the best spot!

10. Goodfolks
Goodfolks, a Southern-style eatery in Georgetown, Texas, is kind of famous for its mouthwatering fried chicken and homemade biscuits. But it also has a full bar serving up unique cocktails and local beers, so it's a great watering hole.
Don't miss their Honey Sriracha Brussels Sprouts starter (sooo good!) and the Crispy Fried Chicken with the restaurant's own Trademark "Dippin Sauces" - honey mustard, spicy ketchup, honey sriracha, and BBQ.
For the ultimate entrée, you seriously need to try the Buffalo Chicken Gnocchi - Crispy Chicken Tenders, Housemade Buffalo Sauce, Potato Gnocchi, Blue Cheese Fondue, Panko Crunch, and Chives.

11. District Six
District Six is a must-visit sports bar in Georgetown whether you're looking for a night out with friends, a casual dining experience, or a snack and a few drinks. This modern sports bar and restaurant offers not only 21 screens dedicated to any and all sports, but arcade games, over 40 beers and wines on tap, and specialty cocktails - shaken, stirred, and frozen.
There aren't a lot of options for local sports bars in Georgetown. So if you want to avoid the big national chain restaurants like Buffalo Wild Wings or Chili's and go to a cool, local Georgetown bar, District Six is for you! I love this spot.
WEBSITE | 105 W 9th St, Georgetown, TX 78626
12. Wildfire
I mentioned Wildfire earlier in this guide on the "quick guide to Georgetown restaurants" but I need to share it again...it's phenomenal! It's been open since 1997 as a family-run restaurant. They have a unique Texas culinary menu with both classic steaks as well as wild game like elk, ostrich, and duck, which isn't something you see on every steakhouse menu!
Dining solo? The bar at Wildfire is one of my favorite places to dine at the bar. The staff is seriously SO great, always friendly and talkative. There's pretty much nothing bad to say about this spot! There's a reason why they've been in business for nearly 30 years...

15. La Riv Wood Fired Italian Grill
Wood fired Italian at its finest! La Riv is where you need to go for an upscale dinner in Georgetown for authentic Italian cuisine. It's a quick walk from the downtown square.
The only difficult thing about eating here is choosing what to order! I could fill up on appetizers alone (that wood-fired octopus and the steak bruschetta are both SO good!) but you also need to save room for handmade past and wood-grilled steak.
Oh, and if you want to try their signature Italian dish, splurge on the Osso Bucco. It's phenomenal paired with a great bottle of Italian wine. 10/10 love this spot for a fancy night out in Georgetown! {Photo: Mary O., Yelp}
