This is not only one of the best breweries in Austin…it’s also one of the best breweries in the country! They’ve won multiple GABF Gold Medal awards for Best Large Brewpub in America. Known for their excellent Pilsners.

Austin Beerworks is one of the most widely recognized breweries in the Austin area. While you can get their amazing beers all over the city at various bars and stores, everything is freshest in their own taproom. And although the food option is technically a food truck, ABW CAN-tina lives on-site and never moves around, so you’re guaranteed to be able to get food here.

Black Star Co-op

This awesome north Austin brewpub has a seasonal menu of rotating taps. And while the beers are pretty good, the food menu is REALLY awesome. Be sure to get the fish n chips.
The Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen
In-house restaurant: German-inspired pizza, pub food, mac n cheese
Traditional German-inspired beers and elevated pub food. This is also one of the largest indoor spaces in Austin, so it’s an excellent option if it’s a rainy or cold day and you’re looking for a kid-friendly place to eat in Austin.

Belgian-style ales (great in the winter!) and some fun fruited beers and witbiers. The really amazing part of Celis, though, is their giant beer garden. They have a large stage, two food trucks, and a massive turf-covered lawn that’s perfect for kids.
Central Machine Works

One of the coolest breweries in Austin for the ambiance alone: Central Machine Works is in a workshop that made airplane parts in 2022. They have a lot of drinks (beer + cocktails) and a really good kid-friendly menu.
Hold Out Brewing
In-house restaurant: burgers, chicken sandwiches, curly fries, hefty salads
Hold Out is one of the best options in Austin for REALLY good food and REALLY good beer. They’re adjacent to sister restaurant Better Half Bar, and everything is made in-house, including burger buns! The beer is awesome (lots of hop-forward brews here) and there’s a great covered patio where you can enjoy it all. Plus, there’s a ton of parking here on the back side of the property, which is pretty rare for a brewery in downtown Austin.
Independence Brewing Co.
Rotating food truck: currently Hajima Korean BBQ)
Old school craft brewery that dates back to 2004. They’re famous for their Native Texas pilsner, a light 5.2% brew that tastes great on a hot Austin day.
Infamous Brewing Co.
Food trucks: Waypoint Food Truck Park
Located way out by Lake Travis, Infamous Brewing Co. has a wide variety of beers, weekend tours of the brewery, and a few food options nearby at the Waypoint Food Truck Park.

Owned by an *actual* Bavarian prince, Koko’s Bavarian is an awesome place to grab some crisp German lagers and a big plate of Bavarian fries, schnitzel, and sausages. They have an awesome outdoor beer garden and plenty of free customer parking.
Last Stand Brewing

Last Stand Brewing is an older brewery in Austin that recently relocated to Congress Ave. They have lots of parking, a huge indoor air conditioned space, plenty of food from Southside Flying Pizza (including wings!), a separate game room, and a bunch of delicious brews.
Lazarus Brewing Co.
In-house taqueria: tacos, chips and guac, queso
If you want a really cool east Austin patio, some award-winning beers, and the best tacos in Austin, check out Lazarus Brewing. The food menu is small but they do it really well (RESPECT) and the Mexican street tacos are better than almost anywhere else in Austin. Their beer has won several GABF medals, and with the next-door barrel room they’re always coming up with something new and fun for the beer menu.
Live Oak Brewing Co.
Food truck: The Black Forest, authentic German food
Live Oak is a beautiful 22-acre beer garden (near the airport - stop by here when you land at ATX!) with a German food truck on-site, a big indoor tap room, and tons of space for little ones to run around. Their old-world ales are beautifully brewed and taste great under the big Texas sky.

One of the most popular breweries in Austin right now Meanwhile has some of the best food trucks in ATX, award-winning beers, and a great big outdoor space with a live music stage and an epic playground.

Oasis Texas Brewing Co

Folks love to go to The Oasis Restaurant on Lake Travis for the sunset views, but lots of people don’t know that there’s an awesome brewery next door to the restaurant with the same views! Oasis Texas Brewing Co is a wonderful Austin brewery with food. Head out to the lake to enjoy dinner, a few pints, and an incredible view of the Texas sunset. Oasis Brewing’s London Homesick Ale won a gold medal at GABF, and it’s a nice little 4% beer that tastes great on the hottest days of the year.

Oddwood Ales is a really fun brewery with food in Austin. Their beer program focuses on lagers, sour beers, and some hoppy beers, and the taproom is family-friendly. Their pizzas are different from most places in town: they’re these awesome little 10” bar pies, made with a super-thin, crispy crust. So delicious with an IPA.

Located at The Yard in South Austin, St Elmo has grown a cult following for its crisp and delicious Carl (Kolsch-style beer), hospitable taproom, and crazy good on-site food truck. Seriously. Best damn fried chicken sandwiches of your life

Located on St Elmo Rd in south Austin, Vacancy Brewing is a bright little tap room with a great lineup of core beers (try the Margo amber ale!), a small outdoor patio on the parking lot, and a delicious food truck.

Zilker Brewing is an urban brewery on East Sixth Street, the popular, walkable street on the east side of downtown. (If you’re visiting Austin, this is an awesome spot to walk around, check out some breweries, eat tacos, and hear live music.) Their 7.0% Marco IPA is an Austin classic, and the Icy Boys light lager is definitely worth trying if you’re stopping by on a hot summer day. Spicy Boys Chicken, the same truck that’s parked at St Elmo, has a second location here at Zilker Brewing.
