Belgian-style ales (great in the winter!) and some fun fruited beers and witbiers. The really amazing part of Celis, though, is their giant beer garden. They have a large stage, two food trucks, and a massive turf-covered lawn that’s perfect for kids.

One of the coolest breweries in Austin for the ambiance alone: Central Machine Works is in a workshop that made airplane parts in 2022. They have a lot of drinks (beer + cocktails) and a really good kid-friendly menu.

Hold Out Brewing
In-house restaurant: burgers, chicken sandwiches, curly fries, hefty salads
Hold Out is one of the best options in Austin for REALLY good food and REALLY good beer. They’re adjacent to sister restaurant Better Half Bar, and everything is made in-house, including burger buns! The beer is awesome (lots of hop-forward brews here) and there’s a great covered patio where you can enjoy it all. Plus, there’s a ton of parking here on the back side of the property, which is pretty rare for a brewery in downtown Austin.

Independence Brewing Co.

Old school craft brewery that dates back to 2004. They’re famous for their Native Texas pilsner, a light 5.2% brew that tastes great on a hot Austin day.

Oddwood Ales is a really fun brewery with food in Austin. Their beer program focuses on lagers, sour beers, and some hoppy beers, and the taproom is family-friendly.
