It’s the most awaited season for every Austinite…the END of triple-digit temps! Fall is nearly here, and the season isn’t complete without visiting at least one of the many pumpkin patches in Austin and getting some cute photos of your crew.

Bring the kids and the pets and get ready for pumpkin picking, corn mazes, kettle corn, train rides, petting zoos, pumpkin carving, face painting, and more. Here are some of the best pumpkin festivals in Austin!

One quick word about the cost of visiting pumpkin patches in Austin:

Every year I share my favorites, and every year I am astounded with how much they charge people to go and take pictures with gourds!!! Haha. Pumpkin patches have gotten very expensive in Austin (and I assume in most other cities, too.)

Weekend ticket prices are often close to $20 per person, which means you're already spending $80 entry for a family of four before you pay for any special rides, games, or food.

If you want to avoid spending $100+ at a pumpkin patch, try to visit on a weekday. Tickets are often a lot less expensive (and sometimes FREE!) and the pumpkin patch will be a lot less crowded.

Best Pumpkin Patches In Austin

1. Uhland Fall Fest (Formerly Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival

Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival is no more!!! They are officially rebranding and moving to Uhland (near Kyle, TX) for the 2024 fall season.

But if you've been to the DSPF for the last few years, you can expect a lot of the same fun! This one is SO much more than just an Austin pumpkin patch! It's a full-blown fall festival with all sorts of activities for the family.

You can bring your kids here to enjoy a bunch of fun activities and games with an Autumn theme, like a giant corn pit where the kids can play with Tonka trucks, a petting zoo, and a giant tower of hay bales that you can climb.

It’s a truly family-friendly affair with more than 50 attractions like a hay maze, an art corner, a train ride, and a bunch of delicious snacks and beverages. Note that for 2024 they are ONLY open on the weekends, so be sure to get your tickets early!

Opening Dates: Sept. 28 - Oct. 27, 2024

Hours: Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am - 7 pm

Cost: $15 per person for advance tickets, $20 per person at the gate (babies 0-3 are free and adults over 65 are free)

Additional cost of $3-10 for some of the additional activities, like pony rides, balloon art, and pumpkin painting.

2. Indian Springs Ranch Pumpkin Patch

Indian Springs Ranch is a family-owned exotic animal ranch in south Austin. Every year from the end of September until the end of October they open their ranch for a pumpkin patch event!

They also have a kid's playground and animal viewing and feeding...so much fun for the little ones!

Note that this is one of the Austin pumpkin patches that's a little bit cheaper to visit on a weekday versus a weekend.

Opening Dates: September 28 - October 27, 2024

Hours: Monday: Closed, Open on Monday, Oct. 14, 10am-6 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday: Closed, Thursday & Friday: 2pm - 6pm, Saturday & Sunday: 10am - 6pm

3. Sweet Eats Farm

This cute farm in Georgetown is opening up again for 2024 bigger and better than ever! They're even planning fireworks on weekend evenings in October! Visit the website for details.

Check out their 4.5-acre Texas-sized corn maze and 2.5-acre pumpkin patch. With more than 20 different fall activities like pony rides, apple cannons, and face painting, this is one of the best pumpkin patches in Austin if you live up north!

Their pumpkin patch has more than 20 types of pumpkins available for picking and bringing home. In addition to the major events (the pumpkin patch and corn maze), they also have 30 other fun little activities that the whole family (especially the kiddos!) will love.

Hours: 9 am - 6 pm every day

4. Sweet Berry Farm

This is the biggest pumpkin patch near Austin at 152 acres! Visit Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls for a day of fun entertainment. This is one of the sweetest little places to go year-round for their various seasonal activities, and fall is no exception!

Cost: Free entry and then about $4-10 per extra activity. Pay for whatever pumpkins and flowers you want to pick and bring home, and pay for things like scarecrow stuffing, hay rides, pumpkin painting, and the candy corn kids maze.

5. Evergreen Farms Pumpkin Hunt

Sure, Evergreen Farms is known for being a Christmas tree farm, but they host thousands of Central Texas residents every year for their annual fall festival in Elgin, TX. Be sure to show up this October 2024 when Evergreen Farms hosts its annual Pumpkin Hunt!

6. Tarrytown United Methodist Church

This is an Austin fall classic! A pumpkin patch has been held at Tarrytown United Methodist Church for more than 30 years as a way to mark the end of summer and enjoy pumpkin picking season.

Just like every year, the beautiful TUMC lawn is planning to attract lots of visitors from all over Austin for some beautiful pumpkin photos this year. This is a great one if you just want a simple, local pumpkin patch where you can take some pictures and buy some pumpkins. 7. Crowe's Nest Farm

Located in Manor, TX, Crowe's Nest Farm is a working farm and wildlife refuge. It's home to hundreds of abused farm animals and non-releasable wildlife, and thousands of school children visit every year to say hello. Crowe's Nest Farm holds a Family Fall Fest every October. Stop by for the Pumpkin Patch and other fall-themed activities all season long!

It’s a beautiful place to visit on a brisk fall day, and you can try horseback riding, hayrides, farm tours, live music, and even say hi to the various wildlife on the property.

*Note: no dogs allowed! They can scare fragile wildlife refuge animals.

8. The Jersey Barnyard

Visit this 100-year-old 4 generational farm in La Grange, TX (about an hour southeast of Austin) for their annual pumpkin patch! Aside from choosing some pumpkins to bring home, the farm also offers free pumpkin painting every Saturday morning from 10 am - 12 pm. You can take a photo with your decorated pumpkin in their barn and it’s a really sweet (and inexpensive) fall activity near Austin.

9. Robinson Family Farm

This year's Pumpkin Patch in Robinson Family farm is a can’t-miss fall festival just north of Austin! Enjoy pumpkins, beer, wine, and 20+ other fun activities.

10. Mama Mary's Farm

Mama Mary’s Farm is back for its 5th year!! This is an excellent pumpkin patch to put on your bucket list to visit this fall! Located about 30 minutes from Austin, Mama Mary's pumpkin patch has all sorts of activities like hay rides, an animal barn, outdoor bowling, a human hampster wheel, barrel train rides, and all sorts of fall-themed photo-ops. 11. Elgin Christmas Tree Farm

Bill and Kay Walton established Elgin Christmas Tree Farm in 1984, and they’ve been holding annual fall pumpkin patches for many years.

12. SoCo Pumpkin Patch at Christ Lutheran Church

If you want to buy pumpkins for a good cause, this SOCO pumpkin patch is the one for you! All church proceeds from this year’s pumpkin patch will benefit the wonderful non-profit organization, Water to Thrive, which builds wells and helps to bring clean water to those living in rural parts of Africa.

Opening Dates: Oct 14-31, 2024 (or until they run out of pumpkins)

13. St Johns Lutheran Church Pumpkin Patch (Details Coming Soon)

Saint Johns Lutheran Church has an impressive selection of beautiful pumpkins and gourds are grown in our sister state, New Mexico, on a Navajo Reservation. They've partnered with their vendor, Pumpkins USA, for 30 years!

The funds raised at the Saint John’s Patch go to missions and programming that benefit the community.

14. Bethany Lutheran Church Pumpkin Patch (Details coming soon)

Spend a fall morning at Bethany Lutheran Church and enjoy their adorable annual pumpkin patch + other fun fall activities.
