Q2 Stadium is the gorgeous home of Austin’s major professional league soccer team, Austin FC. It’s pretty far north in Austin (located in the North Burnet section of North Austin), and it’s one of the newest sports facilities in the country, consisting of 20,500 seats. During those fun soccer game days, this stadium is crowded with verde jerseys, rowdy fans, and lots and lots of great food and drinks. But if you want to pregame for an Austin FC game, here are the best bars and breweries near Q2 Stadium.
While Q2 Stadium's location may not be ideal to some (many pushed for this stadium to be built in central Austin), it is conveniently situated within a mile and a half of some great Austin bars and brewers that locals love! In fact, before the Domain-adjacent North Austin was known as the location of Q2 stadium, it was first referred to as the “neighbeerhood" because there’s such a dense bunch of breweries within it. These local Austin craft breweries and bars make attending a soccer tournament more even fun! Who doesn’t love to toast a glass of beer as a pregame to watching an exciting soccer game?
Bars and Breweries Near Q2 Stadium
1. Turnstile Coffee Beer Cocktails and Burgers
Turnstile Coffee Beer Cocktails and Burgers are one of the best coffee, craft beer, and cocktail bars near Q2 Stadium. Aside from beers, cocktails, and coffee, they also offer gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads. (Note: you can also get a drive-through espresso and pretty good breakfast tacos in the morning.) They have a large patio with some outdoor seats that provide a laid-back and very comfortable ambiance to Austin FC fans who want to enjoy a drink and a bite before the game.

2. Celis Brewing
Since 1992, Celis has specialized in Belgian-style beers, but recently it expanded its product line. One example is the double dry-hopped pale ale, which tastes great on a hot Texas afternoon in the summer before heading to watch the Austin Verdes play at Q2 Stadium. Celis is home to several fantastic local Austin food trucks, as well as a VERY large outdoor space with turf, shade, picnic tables, and live music. If you’re hoping to find a brewery near Q2 stadium with excellent food, plenty of brews, and a fun environment, try Celis. Their craft beer list includes the original witbier that Pierre Celis brewed in Hoegaarden, Belgium.
3. Hopsquad Brewery Co.
Hopsquad is a spacious brewery in North Austin. It’s been recognized as the home base for the Los Verdes supporters' club, where they throw parties every game. It was launched in late January 2019 by cousins Lex and Cesar Limon, and it has quickly grown in popularity among Austin beer drinkers. With its vibrant atmosphere, multiple food trucks, and quickly moving game day line, it’s one of the best locations to unwind and eat before an FC Austin game. Along with its beer selection, they also have an on-site food truck named Doughsquad, which sells pizza, empanadas, and corn dogs.
4. Circle Brewing
Located right next to Hopsquad, Circle Brewing is the oldest brewery in North Austin. The main essence of Circle Brewing is to offer simple yet unique craft beers. Ben Sabel and Judson Mulherin, the company's founders, make their brews exclusively with water, malt, hops, and yeast, following the German Purity requirements of 1516. This Austin FC pregame bar is good if you’re going for no-frills beers: no fruits, spices, chemicals, or other additives are used in their breweries. They also throw some huge watch parties, which makes this brewery very popular with Austin FC fans.
5. Oskar Blues Brewery
Oskar Blues Brewery is one of the best and biggest breweries in North Austin near Q2 stadium… although technically, it’s Colorado-based. Despite not being a *truly* local brewery, it’s a 50,000-square-foot facility with great beer, a friendly staff, and a good food truck. It’s always popular on game days! Aside from the main beer lineup, which you can find at all of the Oskar Blues Breweries around the country, this location also offers Austin-only specials.
6. Austin Beerworks
Austin Beerworks is one of the most well-known and award-winningest breweries in North Austin despite being the farthest away from the stadium of the seven nearby breweries. It’s incredibly popular because of its excellent core beers, seasonal brews, and delicious food. Even though you can’t walk to Q2 stadium from Austin Beerworks very easily, it’s still a great place to pregame for an Austin FC game. It’s a 5,000-square-foot sleek, contemporary taproom with a great big dog- and family-friendly patio. The outdoor space has a small play space, picnic tables, and plenty of shade. Also (lucky for you!), you can visit Austin Beerworks literally whenever Austin FC is playing because it’s one of the few breweries in the area that’s open every day of the week.
7. Fairweather Cider Co
Not a beer drinker? Fairweather Cider offers delicious craft cider in their gorgeous taproom near Q2 Stadium. It’s the perfect spot to go before or after the game. John Staples and Michael Gostomski White, who were once roommates and FedEx drivers, opened the business in 2017 and focused on producing dry cider using fruit from Oregon. They focus on offering crips and bright, extremely dry ciders with a strong emphasis on creativity. The taproom is quite small, but it’s a fun, festive place to pregame for a soccer match. Not into cider? They also offer frozen cocktails, wine by the glass, seasonal drinks, and N/A options.

Slab BBQ And Beer, a barbecue joint in Austin, Texas, offers classic Texas bbq, delicious loaded sandwiches, and craft beer. It’s conveniently located near Q2 Stadium, so if you're hoping to enjoy mouthwatering smoked meats and craft beers before or after the game, this is the restaurant for you. There are so many different types of epic sandwiches, from traditional ones like pulled pork or brisket to outrageous ones like the Donk, which has pretty much every type of smoked meat you can think of. There are also pork ribs, nachos with barbecue on top, and veggie bowls with smoked meat.
