Dripping Springs Breweries With Playgrounds

If you have little ones, you’re no doubt looking for kid-friendly restaurants where they can run around and play. One of the best places near Austin for lots of space, sunshine, and beer (!!) is Dripping Springs. It’s about 10 miles southwest of the city. Because of zoning laws and real estate prices, it’s a city that is absolutely flooded with amazing craft breweries with playgrounds.

We’re rounding up all of the Dripping Springs breweries with playgrounds. There are some amazing options! We’ll include insider tidbits, like if the restaurant serves kid-friendly food and any parking info that you might need. As always, the restaurant address and website are linked. Be sure to check their hours.

Dripping Springs Breweries With Playgrounds

1. Jester King

Dripping Springs breweries with playgrounds

Jester King is recognized as one of the best breweries in the United States, and they were one of the first Dripping Springs breweries! The 165-acre ranch has goats, picnic tables, an event hall, and a small playground for the kiddos. The playscape is small (just a wooden climbing structure and a very fast slide), but little ones love it.

There’s tons of space here, so bring a soccer ball and some trucks. Your kids will love playing at Jester King all afternoon.

Here's what you'll find at Jester King: farmhouse ales, wine, pizza, and amazing dessert. They started as a brewery that specialized in spontaneous fermentation (aka “sour beers”) and after winning national awards for that, Jester King has expanded to include clean beers in their lineup, too. Whether you’re a beer nerd and you want to understand all about the native yeast and bacteria that ferment the beer and leaven the dough, or you just want a delicious lager to sip on a sunny weekend in Austin, Jester King is phenomenal.

Fitzhugh brewing is a fun, welcoming spot that’s always hopping on the weekends. There’s a great big outdoor playground, delicious food, some TVs in case the game is one, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating!

One of the best parts about this brewery is that they have a kitchen (rather than rotating food trucks), so you know that the menu will be the same every time you visit. Predictability is sometimes the best thing when you're talking about kids' food choices.

3. Ghost Note Brewing

This craft brewery in Dripping Springs is great for kids and adults! Their playground is so much fun…it has a super fun slide, a big climbing space, and there’s generally just a lot of room to run around. For adults, there’s live music, corn hole, fire pits, and an excellent beer list.

They have Frida's Cocina food truck on site. Order a few tacos and some chips & queso, grab a beer, and enjoy the Hill Country air.

4. Vista Brewing

Vista Brewing playground

Technically it’s in Driftwood, just east of Dripping Springs. But Vista has one of the best brewery playgrounds and needs to be included on this list.

The playground at Vista is slightly removed from the brewery, but there are picnic tables surrounding it so you can bring your beer and food while you play with the kids. It’s a big wooden climbing structure with a couple of slides, and the whole thing is shaded by cedar trees. I think that it's actually really nice that the playground is removed from the brewery - you don't have to worry about bothering any of the folks who would rather not have kids around at a brewery.

Vista is a beautiful space…it’s the type of brewery that could easily double as a wedding venue. (And it is available for events, btw!) The rustic Texas setting pairs perfectly with the hyper-local foods, like their plancha cheeseburger with Texas wagyu beef.

5. Treaty Oak

Treaty Oak is a HUGE space in the Texas hill country. It’s one of our favorite kid-friendly restaurants in Dripping Springs! The sprawling ranch is home to a distillery, brewery, restaurant, playground, and more.

The one down side to Treaty Oak if you're looking for a kid-friendly spot is that they no longer have an on-site restaurant.. Boo 🙁

However, there is a LOT of space at Treaty Oak for the kids to run around. So if you're looking for a spot to hang out, grab a beer, and spend time with the fam, this is a great option! PS: lots of parking, too!

6. Suds Monkey Brewing Co.

Pizza at Suds Monkey Brewing

It's been around since 2017, but in 2021 Suds Monkey relocated to a bigger space that's also closer to Austin! This brewery is a big industrial warehouse space with sliding doors that open up to lots of light, plus a big fenced-in yard area that's perfect for kiddos (and dogs!) to run around and burn off some energy.

They make pizza on site, so you can order a few pies to enjoy with your brews.

While there's not technically a playground at Suds Monkey Brewing Co., they have a sandbox, a gaga ball pit, and an up-and-down roller coaster slide for kids. It's a great place to check out if you're looking for a family-friendly brewery in Dripping Springs.

7. 12 Fox Beer co

12 Fox Brewing Playground

Another place to round out this list of breweries in Dripping Springs with playgrounds, 12 Fox Brewing is a small-batch, veteran-owned brewery. It has as wide open spaces, a play space for the big kids, a food truck, and a bunch of picnic tables and playgrounds for hanging out with your people. If you’re not into beer, they offer wine, mead, and gluten-free cider, plus juice boxes for the kiddos.

Full disclosure: the playground is best for older kids; it's pretty tall and isn't awesome for the 2-5 yr old crowd, but works well for the 8-10 yr olds.
