Where To Stay In Austin For A Bachelorette Party: Here’s A Map
There’s no doubt that Austin is an incredible place for a bachelorette weekend. It’s perfect for people who want to just have FUN without a lot of pressure.
We’re pretty casual here in ATX…this isn’t going to be your LA or Miami nightlife scene. Instead, Austin has great dancing, insane restaurants, all sorts of weird/local murals and swimming holes like Barton Springs, live music, the best bbq, a few honky tonks, and literally some of the best bachelorette party activities you’ll find anywhere. If you’re in the process of planning a trip soon, I'll share where to stay in Austin for a bachelorette party.
(After all, you pretty much need to book the hotel or Airbnb if you want to officially tie down your calendar date.)
Pssst: be sure to also check out my thorough guide to planning an entire bachelorette weekend - it has everything!

How much does a bachelorette party in Austin cost? There’s a number floating around that gives the “average” price to be about $1,300…but it honestly costs as much or as little as you want. You could stay at the Hotel St Cecilia and spend $1,300 on booking rooms for one night, or you could book an adorable Airbnb on the outskirts of Austin for less than $100 per night. We’ll share a wide range of bachelorette accommodations for you here.

They have one of the best rooftop pools in Austin. It’s a huge pool with palm trees, lots of lounge chairs, and a view of downtown Austin, and the vibe is very "Bachelorett-y." The Fairmont also has an incredible spa, several great restaurants, and super comfy beds.

The Line
The Line Hotel is a very cool downtown Austin hotel and it’s perfect for bachelorette parties. It overlooks Lady Bird Lake on one side and downtown Austin on the other side, so no matter which side of the hotel your room is on, you’re going to have a great view! Their infinity pool overlooks the lake, and they also have a Veracruz All Natural walk-up window on the pool deck. These are some of the best tacos in Austin, and if you wanted to spend an entire day of your bachelorette party just lounging by this incredible pool, eating tacos and queso, and drinking, no one would judge you! It’s honestly what most local Austinites want to do on any random weekend afternoon…)
The Line also has one of the best rooftop cocktail bars in Austin. It’s called P6 (because it used to be the 6th floor of the parking garage before they renovated it) and it’s a very cool lounge that has unobstructed views of Lady Bird Lake and the Congress bat bridge.

South Congress Hotel
South Congress is the perfect place to call home base for your bachelorette party because it’s where you can find tons of shopping, all sorts of famous Austin murals, and some amazing Austin restaurants. You could easily spend the entire weekend on SOCO, or if you want to venture out, just grab a very quick rideshare or scooter ride to downtown Austin, east Austin, Zilker Park, or Rainey Street.
The South Congress Hotel is a chic/industrial 3-story building on SOCO. If you’re a foodie, it’s a very fun spot to stay because it has so many great restaurants: Maie Day chop house, Otoko sushi, Watertrade speakeasy Japanese whisky bar, Manana Coffee (best pastries EVER), and Cafe No Se, an adorable all-day eatery. Oh, and South Congress Hotel also has a bar in the hotel lobby that has a great happy hour!
The rooftop pool at South Congress Hotel is super cute; you can spend the afternoon lounging here before getting dressed up to go to restaurants and bars on SOCO in the evening, and then catching a rideshare to downtown Austin to enjoy the bars and live music.
Austin Motel
Here’s another fun option on South Congress! Austin Motel is an absolutely iconic gem on SOCO - you’ve for sure seen the “so close yet so far out” marquee outside the hotel. It’s right in the middle of all the buzz: Jo’s Coffee is literally across the street, the amazing Joann’s Fine Foods is adjacent to the Motel, and, since Austin Motel is pretty far south on SOCO, you can actually walk to downtown Austin from it!
The kidney-shaped pool is super cute, and the rooms are all retro and beautifully designed. Austin Motel is a great option for a bachelorette party in Austin that wants to be on SOCO, but also wants to be close-ish to downtown Austin.

Hotel Saint Cecilia
Want to splurge on your Austin bachelorette party hotel? Hotel Saint Cecilia is one of the most upscale (and gorgeous!) hotels in Austin. Tucked into a quiet side street just a few steps from South Congress, it feels really far away even though it’s just a few steps from all of the restaurants and shopping on SOCO.
Like the other bunkhouse properties (Austin Motel, Hotel San Jose, Hotel Magdalena), the Hotel Saint Cecilia has incredible hospitality. You’ll be treated like royalty during your stay! They have a lovely little pool, decadent rooms, and the shaded, lush, grassy grounds are very luxurious. Hotel Saint Cecilia is a totally splurge-worthy, quiet retreat from the city of Austin. {Photo: Hotel Saint Cecilia}
The Westin is in the heart of downtown! It has an AWESOME rooftop pool, comfy beds, an in-house restaurant, and (most importantly) it’s close to pretty much everything.
Azul Rooftop is a very fun perk to this Austin hotel. You can enjoy the pool and cabanas during the day (seriously, it’s a great pool with a great view!), and at night it’s transformed into a cocktail lounge with music, pool lights, and strong drinks. {Photo: Westin Downtown}
The Thompson
This new hotel in downtown Austin should definitely be considered for your Austin bachelorette party. If you’ve never stayed at a Thompson hotel, you’re in for a treat! We’re talking about the BEST hospitality, crazy luxurious bedding, beautiful decor, a stunning rooftop pool with private cabanas, and multiple restaurants located inside the hotel.
The Thompson in Austin has a few restaurants you might want to try. But you’ll also be close to Dirty Sixth, Rainey Street, and all of the fun downtown Austin hot spots.
Where To Stay In Austin For Nightlife
Inn Cahoots
Inn Cahoots is an airbnb-style hotel in east Austin. You can actually book “units” of the hotel that have up to 5 bedrooms and 13 beds, so everyone can fit in one space! There’s a hotel pool that you can reserve just for your group for 3 hours (no need to have to share it with the other guests), and there’s a cool rooftop lounge area that offers a view of downtown Austin. This place is the perfect hybrid between hotel and airbnb.
Regarding location, Inn Cahoots is one of the best bachelorette party stays in Austin for GREAT nightlife! It’s steps from Shangri-La craft cocktails, Granny’s Tacos, Easy Tiger beer garden, The Liberty bar, Il Bruto italian restaurant (best outdoor patio!), Zilker Brewery, Snooze Eatery for morning brunch, and about 100 other places.

Hotel Van Zandt
Where should you stay in Austin if you want to visit Rainey Street? The Hotel Van Zandt is the BEST option! It’s an amazing hotel, and it’s literally located right in the heart of Rainey Street. It’s a Kimpton hotel, which means it does a great job of representing the heart and soul of Austin while providing its own signature “Kimpton” hospitality.
Hotel Van Zandt is just a few steps from all of the bars on Rainey Street like Banger's, Lucille, and Half Step (no need for expensive ride shares!), but you might want to spend all of your time at the hotel! It has an amazing rooftop bar and pool (servers will bring the drinks straight to your lounge chair), private cabana rentals for your bachelorette party, a lovely dinner restaurant with live music, a happy hour in the lobby, and a coffee shop on the ground floor. If you’re looking for where to stay in Austin for nightlife, I always recommend Hotel Van Zandt.
The Driskill
The Driskill is a historic hotel in downtown Austin that’s been operating since 1886. It’s very “old Texas oil money” in character: dark wood, leather chairs, big ornate chandeliers, whiskey cocktails. But it’s actually one of the best places to stay in Austin for nightlife! Why? It’s located ON 6th Street in downtown Austin, home to all sorts of famous bars like Midnight Cowboy, the Jackalope, and Friend's Bar. If you plan on bar-hopping on 6th Street and you want to be able to very quickly get back home to the nearest hotel AND you want to stay in a really cool Austin hotel, The Driskill might be for you.
It doesn’t have a pool, but it does have a cute cafe and bakery for your breakfast/lunch needs, as well as the Driskill Bar, which was voted the Best Bar in Texas by Southern Living Magazine.

Cheap Places To Stay For An Austin Bachelorette Party
Firehouse Hostel
Located on the upper floors of the oldest firehouse in Austin, Firehouse Hostel is one of the least expensive places to stay in downtown Austin. The rooms are comfortable (not “hotel” comfy, but they’re great if your primary concern is sticking to the budget!) and everything is really clean and modern. Firehouse Hostel even has a couple of suites that offer a large private bathroom.
This hostel is steps from the hottest nightlife in Austin, including 6th Street, Rainey Street, Austin museums, restaurants, food trucks, the lake, and more. Note that if you're staying in Austin with a very large group, it's not your best bet (in that case, rent a house!), but if your bachelorette party is 3-4 people, this hostel is a great budget option.

The Westin At The Domain
If you’re willing to consider a different part of Austin than the typical SOCO/downtown Austin/Rainey St options, then think about maybe booking a hotel at The Domain NORTHSIDE! It’s Austin’s premier shopping/dining/living destination in north Austin, and there are a few fun hotels in north Austin. You can book a room at The Westin and you’ll be steps from the best shopping, a ton of really great restaurants, and even some bars and nightlife.
The Westin has a heated outdoor pool, a lounge, and bar, AND it’s definitely a cheap place to stay in Austin for your bachelorette party when you’re comparing it to downtown Austin hotel prices.

One More Thought About Vacation Home Rentals For Your Austin Bachelorette Party
If you have at least 5 people coming to your bachelorette party, the most budget-friendly option in Austin is definitely booking a vacation rental house. There are so many fun ones that have pools, lots of beds, a communal space that you can decorate with stuff for the bride-to-be, and even houses in amazing locations that are walking distance to bars, restaurants, music, food trucks, and nightlife.
If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay in Austin for your bachelorette party, 100% look VRBO or Airbnb. The hotel prices in Austin are honestly just insane these days!
And sure, it can be a bit intimidating to look at a house rental and see that it costs $1,000 per night... But if you have 12 people in your party and it has space to sleep all 12, that’s less than $100/night per person, which is much cheaper than a downtown Austin hotel!
One more thing: this guide covered places to stay in Austin for your bachelorette party, but if you're interested in Texas wineries, relaxing by the lake, and enjoying a quieter Texas Hill Country itinerary, there are tons of places out in Dripping Springs, Lake Travis, Fredericksburg, and beyond that are great for a bachelorette party. They're just a bit different than an Austin bachelorette party, so I'll save those for another post.
